Professor Frankel joined the Chapman Law School Faculty in 2005. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from UCLA, where she graduated summa cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). While in law school, she earned the honor of Best Brief in her first-year Legal Research and Writing Class. She also was a member of the Moot Court Board Executive Committee and Director of Boalt's McBaine Honors Moot Court Competition. After law school, she worked as a business litigation attorney at Morrison & Foerster in Irvine, where her practice concentrated primarily on energy law. She was also a practicing litigation attorney at Crowell & Moring in both Washington, D.C. and Irvine. In addition to working as a practicing attorney, she also was a placement coordinator in the Office of Career Services at NYU School of Law. Before joining Chapman, she taught Advanced Appellate Advocacy as a visiting professor at the Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as teaching Client Interviewing, Counseling and Negotiations as an adjunct professor at Whittier School of Law. Professor Frankel also continues to work as a practicing attorney, including working as a solo practitioner as well as representing low-income clients pro bono, primarily in landlordtenant cases.
