David L. Rice Adjunct Professor of Law Chapman University School of Law
David Rice graduated from Loyola Law School, cum laude, in 1979 and received an L.L.M. in taxation from the University of San Diego in 1988. He is senior partner in the law firm of David Lee Rice, APLC, rated AV by Martindale & Hubbel. He has been in private practice as a tax professional since 1979, and is a Certified Elder Law Attorney through NAELA. He is a Certified Specialist in Taxation with the State Bar of California and a member of State Bar's Tax Section of the Legal Specialization Advisory Commission that oversees the certification process for attorneys seeking status as Certified Specialist in Taxation. Professor Rice previously taught in the Masters of Taxation Program at California State University at Northridge and Golden Gate University, and at the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. He has published numerous articles, including in the Journal of Taxation, the Estate Planning Journal, Practicing Law Institute, the Daily Journal, and Tax Notes. He has testified before the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Treasury, House Ways and Means Committee, and Senate Finance Committee. Professor Rice currently serves as Chair to the Board of Legal Specialization Committee of the State Bar of on Taxation, the Chair of the State Bar Income Tax Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Tax Association. Professor Rice teaches Divorce Taxation. |
