Stephanie TakaragawaAssistant Professor of Sociology, 2008 B.A., University of Southern California; M.A., Ph.D., Temple University Stephanie Takaragawa (Ph.D., Temple University) is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. She has taught courses in the departments of Anthropology, Art History and American Studies at Rutgers University, University of Hamburg, University of Redlands and Moore College of Art and Design. Her research and teaching interests are based in Anthropology and Visual Communication, a branch of cultural anthropology that focuses on issues of representation of film, mass media, art, performance, and cultural display. Her dissertation Visualizing Japanese-America: the Japanese American National Museum and the Construction of Identity examined the role of the Japanese American National Museum in the construction and dissemination of a Japanese-American identity. |
