» BA in Music Learning Outcomes

  1. Music Theory: The student will demonstrate fluent skills in music theory, including a developed academic understanding of music theory, as well as proficiency in aural skills and sight-singing/sight-reading. 

  2. Music Studies: The student will describe the elements of different musical styles and genres, and use these elements to define and analyze the music’s era and/or culture.

  3. Music Research: The student will create original, insightful research into music history and culture, resulting in an individual capstone project in the form of a research paper suitable for submission to graduate schools or publication in relevant scholarly field.
