Nicholas Terry, M.F.A., is a freelance percussionist based in Los Angeles.  With a dual emphasis in classical percussion and drumset, he has distinguished himself as a recitalist and performer of 20th century, classical, jazz/improvisitory, and world music.  With his endeavors so far being concentrated in contemporary art music, Nick is no stranger to popular and world music, having studied and performed North Indian, Afro-Cuban, Arabic, and African drumming.  Recently, Nick has worked and performed with Pierre Boulez, Harrison Birtwistle, Morton Subotnick, James Tenney, Steve Tyrell, Fairouz, Miroslav Tadic, Roger Williams, Just Strings, and the Elvis Schoenberg Orchestre Surreal at such concerts/events as the Lucerne Festival, Ojai  Music Festival, the Green Umbrella Concert Series, Los Angeles¹ Microfest, and the Stanford New Music Festival.  A graduate of the California Institute of the Arts, Nick is currently performing in 182 (devoted to the music of Steve Reich), PARTCH (devoted to the music of Harry Partch), and the Goh Kurosawa Trio (www.sharpthree.com).
