Study Abroad Programs

Chapman Law students can participate in once-in-a-lifetime study abroad opportunities through a summer program in Cambridge, England and an innovative interterm winter program in Byron Bay, Australia. Students in these programs receive full, graded course credit (not transfer, or pass-fail credit), and financial aid is available for most students. Program participation is limited to law students in good standing at an American Bar Association approved law school, graduates of approved law schools in their country of origin or residence, or members of the Bar. Chapman faculty and students have also participated in study abroad programs in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Australia

The Australia Winter Abroad program is co-sponsored by Chapman Law and Southern Cross University School of Law and Justice, located in New South Wales (NSW), Australia. This program is held during Chapman's winter break (Australian summer) in Byron Bay NSW, one of the most beautiful tropical resort locations in the world. The program offers a range of niche and non-mainstream subjects delivered by faculty from Chapman and Southern Cross, as well as a variety of distinguished Australian and International guest presenters. The courses are delivered intensively in week-long blocks, one running over Christmas, and the other over New Year's Day. Students choose the course depending on the time they wish to be in Byron Bay and their particular interests. Recent course offerings have included International Trade & Development Law and The Holocaust, Genocide & the Law.
