Law School Immigration Debate Garners Media Interest

On December 14, 2006, Chapman School of Law and the Orange County Anti- Defamation League hosted the first of three debates on Immigration Reform. The first debate drew a packed house in Chapman’s large conference room and generated television, print and radio news reports. The debate between the former Governor of Colorado, Richard Lamm, and former Ambassador to Mexico, Jeffrey Davidow, addressed the key topic, “Can America Find an Effective and Fair Immigration Policy?”

On Friday, December 15, KFWB news radio aired a story on the debate during its morning drive programming. That night, KCET’s Real Orange news program aired a story, with clips of both Davidow and Lamm. On Saturday, December 16, the Orange County Register ran a full page article on the debate in its front section and on its website, with video clips. On Tuesday, Garden Grove’s public access station, Channel 3, aired a detailed TV news story about the event.

Chapman and the ADL expect equally impressive turnouts for the next debate on February 13, involving Orange County Sherriff Michael Carona and Gardent Grove Police Chief Joseph Polisar. Learn more ...
