LAW > Financial Aid Chapman University School of Law

Chapman University School of Law provides financial assistance, in a manner that maintains the dignity of the individual and the integrity of the Federal Aid Program, to eligible students committed to pursuing their law degree.   The objective of the School of Law's Financial Aid Office is to package students according to their financial needs, in accordance with established policies and regulations, so that students can focus on their legal education.

The School of Law offers a range of programs to assist eligible students in meeting their financial needs.  These programs include merit scholarships, Federal Stafford Loans (Subsidized and Unsubsidized), Federal Perkins Loans, Graduate PLUS, private educational loans, Federal Work-Study, short-term emergency loans, and bar examination loans. Each loan program has specific eligibility and repayment terms.

The primary responsibility for financing a legal education remains with the student. Financial aid is offered to supplement the student’s contribution (as determined from their FAFSA application). Law students are considered "independent" for the purposes of calculating financial aid.
