The Stern Chair in Holocaust Education

Students at Chapman are not required to take courses about the Holocaust, and yet, each year, students majoring in fields as diverse as business administration and film studies choose to take one of several challenging courses on the Holocaust.

Courses on the Holocaust are currently taught within Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences and students may now choose to minor in Holocaust History.

“Germany and the Holocaust is not only a class; it is a life-altering, soul-searching experience. Before completing the course, I thought I knew what I was going to do with my life. Afterward, I had an entirely new goal and new direction. The course helped me realize subtle prejudices I had and opened my eyes to an entirely new world.
“My goal is now to obtain a law degree in order to join the fight against discrimination and hate groups.”
