Commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day:
Creating a Community of Witness

Thanks to a generous grant from the Kenneth and Laura Honig Foundation, each year Chapman University serves as the site for an evening of Holocaust commemoration. At this special time of remembrance, hundreds of members of the Chapman and surrounding community gather to reflect upon the millions who perished in the Holocaust, among them 1.5 million Jewish children. The candles that are lighted each year represent our commitment to remembrance and to witness.

Candle Lighters at Holocaust Remembrance Event

Led by Rabbi Allen Krause, survivors saved by righteous rescuers, along with their children and grandchildren, light candles of remembrance for the millions who perished.
