A Journey to South Africa

During the January 2007 interterm session twenty-two students enrolled in "The New South Africa," a peace studies course that included a two week study tour in Cape Town and its environs. The course was developed by Don Will, director of Peace Studies Program and Dan Oliver and Cisa Payuyo of the Office of Church Relations. All three joined the students on their educational venture in South Africa. The course was developed as a service learning experience for the Disciples on Campus student organization, though enrollment in the course was open to all students.

The group was based in Stellenbosch University located about thirty minutes outside Cape Town. Read more about their experience.
