Civic Engagement has several different programs.
Alternative Breaks Program - Feel like an educational adventure? Take part in a travel experience focused on service or sustainability. Alternative Break Trips are offered during spring break, interterm, and summer; they include domestic and international destinations, vary in length, and provide opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
Community Supported Agriculture - Want fresh produce delivered to you on campus? For a monthly fee, the Community Supported Agriculture program connects you with a local farm, delivering fresh fruits and vegetables for pick-up in the Student Union. It’s good for you and good for the community!
Chapman Day of Service - The Chapman Day of Service and Greek Day of Service are designed to engage large groups of students in service within our local community.
Green Department Certification - Engage your department in a semester-long assessment that evaluates current operations and practices relating to topics such as energy consumption, waste production, and printing/paper usage to cut costs and create a healthier working environment.
Roots Native Habitat Restoration - How much do you know about wetlands and watersheds? Have you been to the Upper Newport Bay? The Roots program is an opportunity to spend a day outdoors while restoring one of Southern California’s largest coastal wetlands!
