New Orleans Travel Course Registration Now Available LEAD 325 Leadership / Experiential Learning Lab: Civic Engagement Initiative (Interterm 2009) Course Dates: Jan. 5 - Jan. 30, 2009 Trip Dates TBD This course will examine such topics as the relational leadership model, servant leadership theory, civic responsibility and service through an analysis of Hurricane Katrina and the impact that disaster continues to have on New Orleans and our society. The course will also include a week-long service-learning trip to New Orleans where we plan to work with Rebuilding Together on rebuilding projects. This 4-credit course is listed as LEAD 325: Leadership/Experiential Learning Laboratory, Civic Engagement Initiative. Space is limited, and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register for this course, you will need to do the following by October 31, 2008:
FORMS For interested Freshmen - due to the fact that this course is a 300-level, upper-division class, you will need your academic advisor's approval prior to registering. Please use the General Petition Form. Upon successful completion of the above items (including faculty approval), and after receiving confirmation from the Center for Global Education, you will be registered in the course. Total costs for this course should range between $1,437 and $1,581 (costs are dependent upon airfare and subject to change slightly) and will cover all travel-related expenses, including most meals, airfare, accommodations, transportation to New Orleans, supplies, and t-shirt (textbooks are NOT included).
