Welcome to Sorority Recruitment 2008

Hello everyone!

My name is Brittany Gordien and I am the Vice President of Recruitment for the Chapman University Panhellenic Council. I am so very excited that you have expressed interest in Sorority Recruitment! Here, you will find all of the information you will need to know about the recruitment process including how and when to register and a list of important dates.

The Panhellenic Council is comprised of women who represent each of the six diverse chapters on Chapman University's campus.  Together our organization works as a governing body for all sorority women.  We constantly strive to provide an environment which facilitates open communication, mutual understanding, and promotes unity within the Chapman Greek life community.

One responsibility of the Panhellenic Council is running the recruitment process. So much time has been committed to coordinating this process.  Our dedication can be attributed directly to our pride as Greeks in promoting growth amongst each of the six amazing sororities.

Affiliated members often describe Greek life at Chapman University as an experience you cannot really understand unless you are part of it.  We all share a unique bond which is grounded in the ideals of leadership, philanthropy, scholarship, and friendship.

There are over 9 million Greek members nationally; 850,000 hours are volunteered by Greeks annually; every U.S. President and Vice President, except two in each office, born since the first social fraternity was founded in 1825 have been members of a fraternity; the first female senator and the first female astronaut were Greek.

Come be apart of something amazing! I can't wait to see all of you during recruitment!  “No matter the letter, we're all Greek together”

In Panhellenic Spirit,

Brittany Gordien

What is Sorority Recruitment?

Sorority recruitment is an exciting learning experience!  There are many opportunities that sorority life can offer.  It is a time to learn about each sorority as they present their obligations, time, commitments, and membership requirements.

As you visit each chapter, you will meet the sorority members and discover how each individual contributes to their sorority and how the sorority contributes to campus life and the community.  Formal recruitment consists of three rounds of parties where potential new members and sorority women participate in a mutual selection process for potential new members to possibly join one of Chapman University’s great NPC sororities.

There is a $40 non-refundable fee to register for sorority recruitment.
