Academic Standing and Ranking

Academic Standing

First-year scholarship recipients who are placed on academic probation at the conclusion of their fall semester will be not be entitled to retain their scholarship for the spring semester. Scholarship recipients who are academically dismissed and then subsequently re-admitted on academic probation by the Academic Standards Committee will not be entitled to retain their scholarship.

Ranking Policy

Ranking of all students occurs once a year at the end of the spring semester. The actual ranking process is typically performed four weeks after the grades have been recorded. Summer courses are not included in the ranking calculations until the end of the following spring semester. First year students are ranked with their entering class for the purposes of scholarship consideration. Determination of who is classified as a 2L or 3L student is made by the Registrar in accordance with Law School policies.
