Gates Cambridge Scholarships

Description:		The Gates Cambridge Scholarships are very prestigious and competitive awards that provide full cost scholarships for students from outside the United Kingdom to pursue graduate study and research at the University of Cambridge. Students use this funding to pursue one of the following courses of study: a second bachelor degree as an affiliated student (two year program), a one-year postgraduate course, or research leading to a doctoral degree. One intent of this program is to create a network of future leaders as many Gates Cambridge Scholars go on to become leaders in addressing global problems related to health, equity, technology, and learning.

Eligibility:		Eligible applicants will possess the highest academic qualifications (with a minimum, within-the-major GPA of 3.7) and excellent potential for graduate work. Successful applicants will also demonstrate a proven leadership ability and a determination to apply their talents for the service of society. Applicants must be admitted to Cambridge University through its normal academic procedures. Generally, applicants must be under the age of thirty.

Award:		This scholarship provides annual funding in excess of $30,000 and may be renewed for four years for students wishing to obtain a Ph.D.
