Honors Program
Highly motivated. Academically talented. Socially responsible. Fascinated by both classic and emerging ideas.
If that’s you, the Chapman University Honors Program may be your perfect fit. In this broad interdisciplinary program based on great books and events from various world cultures, you’ll participate in small discussion-centered classes to experience collaborative and intentional learning in ways that will surprise and excite you.
The dynamic Honors Program, influenced and enhanced by the very Honors students it serves, provides unparalleled intellectual, leadership, and social experiences, including retreats, the opportunity to make presentations at national and regional conferences, dinners, and even camping trips.
Honors courses (which range from music to math, sociology to science, and communication to religious and philosophical studies) satisfy a portion of the GE requirements, and select courses often satisfy major, minor, and elective requirements, too.
If you crave an in-depth interdisciplinary approach and small discussion-centered classes, a supportive and active community of students and professors who challenge and encourage you, the Chapman Honors Program is where you belong.

Experiential learning moves you beyond the classroom to develop, apply, contribute, and share new knowledge. Even better – experiential learning engages you in mapping your own future.
At Chapman, experiential learning isn’t just a catch-phrase. It’s what we do. To help make experiential learning part of your academic program, we offer four options:
- Student-Faculty Research and Faculty-Mentored Research – Work with faculty in natural and social science labs, or develop your own faculty-mentored project in your major discipline
- Domestic and International Internships – Make the workplace your classroom and bring your academic training to new organizational and cultural environments
- Study Abroad and Travel Courses – live and study around the world to gain new perspectives
- Individualized Experiential Learning Projects – Design your own academic project to expand your knowledge
