SURE, you can look at photos, read blogs, or even watch videos, but nothing beats a campus visit to see how perfectly you'll fit in at Chapman University. So come visit!
We'll show you all the ways we can help make your education, your university experience, and your future everything you've dreamed.
Each fall, we host a Discover Chapman Day to give you an in-depth look at the Chapman community. We spend the day describing Chapman's majors and programs, introducing our sports programs, and showing you (and your family) around campus—including the residence halls! You'll get to try out the local lunch options and visit our Student Life Fair.
Can't make it to Discover Chapman Day? No worries. We schedule regular guided campus tours throughout the year, and one of our admissions fellows is often available for an interview. See www.chapman.edu/admission/visit or call the Admissions Office at 714-997-6711 for more information.
For Fall 2013, Chapman University received over 12,000 applications for just 1,630 freshman and transfer openings. Don't let that scare you; it just means your CU peers will be among the best and brightest anywhere. While your grades and test scores are important, the admission committee will review all aspects of your application, including your essay, recommendations, curriculum, and your extracurricular activities. So if you think Chapman is the place for you, send in that application as soon as possible. We can't wait to hear from you!
Chapman University is a Common Application member school. So if you're applying as an incoming freshman, start by submitting the Common Application (www.commonapp.org), plus some additional application materials. Here's how:
Chapman University welcomes students transferring from either 2-year or 4-year colleges or universities for both Spring and Fall semesters. If you've graduated from high school and have completed 24 college-level credits, you're considered a transfer applicant. Go to www.chapman.edu/admission/transfer.asp to learn all the requirements and suggestions for applying as a transfer student. Be sure you download the "Transfer Brochure" PDF for complete details.
News flash: More than 85 percent of Chapman University students qualify for scholarships or earn other forms of financial aid. CU's financial aid programs can assist students and families of all income levels, and every eligible student is encouraged to apply.
Start by completing and submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) either in hard copy or online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. (Chapman's Title IV code, which you'll need for the application, is 001164). If you live in California, make sure your verified grade point average (GPA) has been submitted to the California Student Aid Commission to be considered for a Cal Grant, as well.
For more information about applying for financial aid, go to the Financial Aid website, and download the Student Financial Aid Information Guide PDF for detailed instructions and suggestions.
Chapman University values academic achievement and emerging talent in music, theater, dance, art, film and television, creative writing, journalism, and science. We recognize this excellence by awarding scholarships based on a combination of grades, SAT or ACT scores, and completed curriculum, regardless of financial need. Contact the Office of Admission or the appropriate academic department for information on submission and award guidelines.
