Understanding the diversity of this world begins with an understanding of the uniqueness inherent in the thinking and behavior of each of its citizens. The Department of Psychology provides a comprehensive understanding of human thinking and behavior using critical reasoning and clinical experience to identify and evaluate present theoretical and empirical models of behavior and to promote the development of new models.

The psychology curriculum blends the rich and dynamic nature of Psychology's past and present with the essential theoretical, empirical and professional foundations necessary to advance the discipline. Through an emphasis on Psychology's strong affiliations with the humanities and the sciences, the student achieves heightened awareness of the discipline's integrative nature.
