Ad-aware is a very good program to use to delete spyware from your computer. You may have spyware if it is:

• slow to start up or shut down
• slow to open windows or  programs
• slow to access the Internet connection
• freezes frequently

  Also, if you have programs installed such as Kazaa, WeatherBug, WildTangent, etc. your computer is very susceptible to spyware. 
  You may download the latest version of Ad-Aware and obtain more information about spyware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com.

Steps to Install
Ad-Aware

STEP 1: Point your browser to http://www.lavasoftusa.com and click on the Download Ad-Aware Free link. A new window will pop-up, click on the Download Now link.

STEP 2: Click Run for File Download – Security Warning. 

Click Run for Internet Explorer – Security Warning.

STEP 3: Click Next and accept the license agreement.

STEP 4: Enter your name and optional organization information.  Click on the Next button and select Standard installation.  Click on the Next button to continue.

STEP 5: Specify the destination folder or just click on Next to continue. 

STEP 6: Continue to click on Next until you get to this final install screen.

Steps to Update
Ad-aware

STEP 7: Double-click on the Ad-Aware 2007 icon to run the program. 

For a faster scanning and a generally best overall result, restart the computer in Safe Mode (with Networking), clear all the temporary files, and then run Ad-aware.

STEP 8: Click on Update to download the latest definition files.

Performing a system scan

STEP 9: Click on Scan on the left side of the screen.  Select Full Scan and click the Scan button.

STEP 10: Right-click an empty area of the Scan Results screen and choose Select All Objects from the menu.

STEP 11: Click on Remove to remove all the selected objects.

STEP 12: To remove the Privacy Objects (tracking cookies and MRU objects).

Click the Privacy Object tab and right-click on an empty area.  Choose Select All Objects from the menu and click on the Remove button to remove the selected objects.  Click Finish to finish.
