Configuring Outlook as an Exchange Client
First, go to the control panel and open 'Mail.' |

Then, go to 'Email Accounts.' |

Then select 'Add a new email account.' |

Then select 'Microsoft Exchange Server.' |

Then in the 'Microsoft Exchange Server' box type exchange.chapman.edu and in the 'User Name' box type your username. |

Then, click the 'Check Name' button. Both the server name and user name should become underlined. You may be asked to authenticate when you click the 'check name' button, this will be the same as your Outlook authentication: your username, your password and the domain is chapman.edu. |

VERY important: You must select "Mailbox - Username" in dropdown menu labeled "Deliver new e-mail to the following location:". This setting must be correct before you open Outlook!
You can access this by going to Control Panel>Mail>Email Accounts>View or Change Existing Email Accounts. If this setting is not correct it is possible all of your e-mail will be downloaded onto your home computer, making it inaccessible from work or the web! |

Congratulations! You have successfully configured your Outlook as a Microsoft Exchange Client. The next time you open Outlook, you may get prompted with some questions, simply choose the defaults and you are ready to go.
