»Alumni Giving Opportunities

Amazing things happen every day at Chapman University.  Our campus continues to grow, our students and faculty are thriving and Chapman alumni are taking their places as leaders in businesses and communities around the world. The involvement and generosity of alumni plays a central role in the 150 year tradition of excellence at Chapman University. Your philanthropic support helps to ensure that future generations of Panthers are given the same incredible opportunities for learning and personal growth that you enjoyed during your time as a student.

Chapman University is also committed to increasing alumni participation since many foundations contribute to colleges and universities based on the percentage of alumni who give to the institution. The percentage also factors into Chapman’s impressive rise in the U.S. News and World Report college rankings.  The higher Chapman rises in the rankings, the more valuable your degree becomes.

Read on to find out about some of the many ways alumni can make an impact through charitable giving to Chapman University.

+-Chapman Fund

The Chapman Fund is the cornerstone that sustains the incredible forward motion and discovery that happens every day at Chapman University.  Every student, faculty member and corner of campus benefits from the Chapman Fund. It is truly our most powerful tool in unlocking Chapman’s potential.

Alumni gifts to the Chapman Fund keep the university’s extraordinary vision moving forward by supporting four important areas:

  • Scholarships
  • Faculty Excellence
  • Student Enrichment
  • Emerging Opportunities

Click here to support the Chapman Fund, or contact the Annual Giving team for more information at (714) 628-2834 or annualgiving@chapman.edu

+-Alumni Scholarship Fund

Alumni are an important part of the Chapman Family. The alumni network encompasses more than 40,000 undergraduate and graduate alumni from around the globe. Because they know the university best, alumni are a vital part of the campus community and serve an important role in Chapman’s continued success and rise in prominence.

Collectively, alumni have an opportunity to make a powerful difference in the lives of students by giving to the Alumni Scholarship Fund. 100% of all gifts to the Alumni Scholarship Fund (which is a part of the Chapman Fund) support both merit- and need-based scholarships for Chapman’s best, brightest and most deserving students.

+-Payroll Deductions for Alumni Faculty and Staff

Alumni faculty and staff play a vital role in putting Chapman’s mission of personalized education into action.  In addition to the time and talent they already contribute as members of Chapman’s staff and faculty, these alumni offer a unique and valuable perspective and their philanthropic support makes a bold statement about their strong commitment to this institution.

Chapman University faculty and staff can make charitable contributions to the university through a convenient payroll deduction form.  Click here to fill out the Gift Payroll Deduction Form to arrange a one-time gift or monthly payroll.  Return the completed form to the Gift Recorder in University Advancement via intercampus mail. If you have any questions regarding the payroll deduction form, contact the gift recorder at (714) 997-6526 or giving@chapman.edu.

+-Planned Giving

Planned giving allows alumni to make charitable gifts to Chapman University now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself.  Unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon your death. The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. Other planned gifts include charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, endowment fund, retirement plan assets, life insurance policies, and remainder interest in your home.

Visit the Planned Giving website to learn more about how you can leave your legacy at Chapman. Be sure to check out the Donor Stories to learn about how your fellow alumni are using planned giving to make a powerful impact at Chapman.

For more information, contact the Office of Planned Giving at (714) 516-4590 or legacy@chapman.edu.
