Pedagogical Panther

A new, peer reviewed journal, the Pedagogical Panther is devoted to publishing work which centers upon issues of democratic education, critical pedagogy, and democratic congruence which examines the relationship between words and action, theory and practice. While open to all, the journal in particular solicits contributions from first time authors, practicing teachers and their students.

Statement of Purpose
We as educators, promote practices that provide students with experience through which they can develop democratic attitudes and values. Only by living them can students develop the democratic ideals of equality liberty and community.
The Pedagogical Panther attempts to serve the ideals we value in our classrooms and out lives by providing information, sharing experiences and providing a forum for dialogue with people holding similar values. We believe that democratic school change must come from those at the heart of education. In memory of Paulo Freire, 1921-1997.
