Comments from program participants

“I found this course to be extremely relevant to my work application. There are many tools that I will be able to use in my work place as well as my daily life. The instructors were all knowledgeable and presented well. The small size of the class allowed for maximum interaction and relationship building. I would definitely recommend this program.”

“I appreciated having the opportunity to meet with a small group each week to discuss my leadership challenge and get feedback and suggestions. I also like the 30-minute coaching session with one of the instructors. Recommending this program to others in my business would create a culture where we would all practice the same techniques and theories.”

“I found that each class session offered relevant information that I could take back to the office and use. I really liked the small class size so we had the opportunity to learn from each other. I also appreciated the books we received as they added to my professional development.”

Leadership Development for Managers

Course Number: XLSU 0002

Most organizations recognize that enhancing the effectiveness of their managers is crucial to business growth and organizational development. Yet managers are often overlooked when it comes to assistance and support in building the competencies necessary for success.

Mountain climbers Well-founded research indicates the impact of an unsuccessful manager can be far-reaching and detrimental. The Gallup Organization’s meta-analysis, published in 1999, surveyed over one million employees. It documented that an unsatisfactory relationship with their manager or immediate supervisor is the major reason employees leave an organization. In addition to employee turnover, many other areas of organizational effectiveness are adversely impacted - sales revenue, profit margin, employee engagement, the quality of goods and services, and level of customer satisfaction.

In this Leadership Development program, managers receive practical, proven tools to maximize effectiveness in their critical organizational role. To make the material more relevant, participants are organized into small “learning groups” to work on actual business issues.
