Administrative Staff
Jeanne Walker is the Director of both the Student Psychological Counseling Services (SPCS) and the Community Psychological Counseling Services, located in the Lower Level of Smith Hall. She has served as Director of Student Psychological Counseling Services since 1983, and has seen this service grow from a one-office operation to a department with both full-time professionals and part-time interns. SPCS provides individual, group and family counseling to enrolled students at Chapman, as well as psycho-educational workshops, assessments and referrals to the private sector. As Director of the Community Psychological Counseling Services, Jeanne oversees the practical clinical training of graduate students in the Community Clinic. Individual, group and family services are offered to the Orange County community on a sliding scale fee basis. A graduate of Chapman, Jeanne also teaches in the Department of Psychology, in which she began her career at Chapman in 1979. Jeanne received her undergraduate degree in Social Welfare from California State University at Long Beach, after work at Pitzer College and the University of Delaware. After receiving her master’s degree at Chapman in Counseling Psychology, she completed her doctoral degree at the University of Southern California in 1990. A licensed psychologist, Jeanne has also done certificate work in mediation and group therapy, and as a CAMFT certified supervisor. She has held positions in the state organization for Counseling Center Directors (OCCDHE) and is a member of the California Psychological Association, the Orange County Psychological Association, and the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors (CAUCCCD). |
