Dr. Christine Hughey and Carina Minardi presented at the 57th American Society for Mass Spectrometry Conference

Dr. Christine A. Hughey, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Carina Minardi (senior) presented a poster entitled, "Characterization of phenolic compounds in almond agricultural wastes by negative ion ESI LC/MS for potential nutraceutical applications" at the 57th American Society for Mass Spectrometry conference in Philadelphia, May 31 - June 4, 2009.  During the conference, Carina participated in an undergraduate poster competition.  She won first place in the "Small Molecule Mass Spectrometry" category and received a $175 prize.  Dr. Anuradha Prakash, Professor of Food Science, and Crissy Anderson (sophomore) were also co-authors on the work presented.
