Our Programs

Our Staff work hard to provide stimulating experiences for your child each day! The programs are suitable for the development of your child. In varying years, we are fortunate enough to be awarded a Federal Grant, in which case we can offer your child even more course specific programs. The center’s activities are age-appropriate and fun, ensuring that the children remain engaged throughout. The staff strives to help the children build a positive self-image, understand their limits and take responsibility for their own actions.

To ensure that positive behavior transpires, the following techniques may be used:
• Setting clear limits.
• Modeling and encouraging expected behavior.
• Redirecting behavior to allow for alternative choices.
• Encouraging cooperation, negotiation, and communication to solve interpersonal problems.
• Allowing children time and opportunity to regain self-control.
• Frequent parent/teacher/director communication

These techniques are designed to encourage open communication between your home and the Center, while fostering self-control, personal growth, self-discipline, and positive self-esteem for the child. Our play yard (link to play yard photo in photo gallery) has been designed for creativeness, motor activities, and fun. (Closed shoes and socks are required for safety.) We offer music, stories, art, indoor-outdoor play, and language development. Social skills are most important.

Classes will occasionally take field trips. Some trips will be local and within walking distance. These trips may be spontaneous and without prior notification. Trips that require transportation will be posted and/or listed in the newsletter. The children and staff will travel in chartered buses or university vans. All children will be fastened into safety seats provided by the parent. A blanket field trip permission slip is included on the continuing consent form and must be signed by a parent. There may be an additional charge for field trips, depending on the nature of the outing.
