Support the Literacy Programs in the College of Educational Studies. Our literacy efforts include the Literacy Tutoring Program at the Kathleen Muth Reading Center, community-based programs at local schools including after school and summer programs, as well as partnerships with local non-profits in the areas of parent education and support programs. These literacy programs are examples of the important work of CES in the classroom and the community.
Community-based
programs bring together Chapman University, local schools, and the business
community. The after school and summer
programs at El Sol Science Academy, Through our partnership with Union Bank, we
have been able to create a unique opportunity for CES and El Sol faculty and
teachers aids to develop after school and summer programs for teachers and
students. Help us continue creating authentic learning experiences for students
throughout the community with donations to support collaborative research for
organizations with CES faculty and students.
CES supports
partnerships with local non-profits such as Padres Unidos. CES faculty, Extended Education, and students
worked with Padres Unidos to co-create curriculum as well as offer space on
campus for the parent certificate classes.
