Biography

Brett Brian began teaching at Chapman University Fowler School of Law in 2013.  He teaches a Mediation Clinic as part of the Juvenile Hall Mediation Program.  Mr. Brian received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University in 1996.  He received a Juris Doctor Degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1999. 

After graduating from law school, Mr. Brian was hired by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.  Among other assignments, he was a prosecutor in the Gang Unit for eight years and has completed over 100 trials.  He has prosecuted a wide range of crimes including narcotics sales, weapons possessions, robbery, kidnapping, carjacking, mayhem, aggravated assault, and murder.  In addition, Mr. Brian has worked for several years in gang intervention and youth outreach programs in Orange County designed to assist high risk youth from engaging in criminal behavior.  In 2013, Mr. Brian taught a Trial Advocacy course at the National Law Academy and at the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs in Odessa, Ukraine.
