Want to meet alumni with similar interests who live in your area? Organize a Chapman Meet Up! These informal, social gatherings encourage alumni to develop connections with other alumni, be an alumni leader in your area of the country and strengthen the alumni bond to Chapman University.

  • Setting up a Chapman Meet Up is easy:

    1. Come up with your idea.
    2. Submit the Chapman Meet Up information form.
    3. Chapman will set up the registration and market the event.
    4. Meet Chapman alumni in your area, have a great time bonding and sharing in the Panther Pride!
  • As the organizer of a Chapman Meet Up, you are responsible for:

    • Submitting the Chapman Meet Up event submission form online.
    • Making the arrangements for the event.
    • Being the point of contact on the event form and on the day of the event.
    • Taking pictures and submitting them to the Alumni Engagement office.
    • Promoting the event through your personal social media networks.

    Chapman University is responsible for:

    • Reviewing the Chapman Meet Up event submission form within five working days of submission.
    • Handling registration.
    • Publicizing events via social media (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter), the alumni website and the monthly alumni e-newsletter. Individual/personal emails will not be sent.
    • Communicating with the point of contact on registration numbers, registration list and messaging
    • Providing a Chapman Meet Up welcome package, which will be sent to the organizer a week prior to the event, including:
      • Name tags
      • Chapman pennants
      • Chapman University alumni sign
      • Chapman giveaways, such as license plate frames, pens, coffee cups, coasters and more

    Things to keep in mind:

    • The organizer should submit his or her event 6-8 weeks prior to the event to ensure that it can be adequately publicized.
    • The alumni e-newsletter goes out on the 1st business day of every month. Content needs to be received by the 15th of the prior month.
    • Chapman University will not process payments for the event. If purchase is necessary, please provide web link information. 
  • We want to recognize our Chapman Meet Up organizers! You have put in your hard work to make these events successful and support the Chapman alumni network. To thank you for taking the time to strengthen the alumni connection in your area, you'll be recognized in the following ways:

    Organize 1-2 events:

    • Recognition in a blog post, including a personal shout out, recapping recent Chapman Meet Ups. We will include a link to the blog post in the alumni e-newsletter and on social media.

    Organize 3+ events:

    • Recognition in a blog post, including a personal shout out, recapping recent Chapman Meet Ups. We will include a link to the blog post in the alumni e-newsletter and on social media.
    • Letter and certificate of recognition from the director of alumni engagement
    • Chapman University wine glass set
    • Endorsement/recommendation on LinkedIn
