Dr. Michael Madrid has served as educational director and associate professor of the Chapman College of Educational Studies since 2003. Prior to coming to Chapman, Dr. Madrid served as the assistant superintendent of personnel for the Little Lake City School District in Santa Fe Springs, California.
Dr. Madrid has more than thirty years of experience in the California public school system. He has served as a classroom teacher, high school administrator, elementary school principal, middle school principal, director of programs and curriculum, as well as assistant superintendent and interim superintendent.
Dr. Madrid received his B.A. in English from the University of California, Irvine, and his M.S. in School Administration from California State University, Fullerton. He earned his Ph.D. in Education from Claremont Graduate University. Dr. Madrid has authored articles pertaining to school administration, bilingual education, and the needs of language minority students. He has served as a consultant and has provided numerous local, state, and national workshop and conference presentations dealing with multicultural education, English language development, as well as bilingual education.
