Certified athletic trainers are employed in a variety of settings*, including:

Athletic trainers with advanced degrees and supplemental credentials and certifications are typically more "marketable." Chapman's ATEP is designed to help our graduates achieve their career goals–whether they seek immediate employment or aim to enter graduate school programs in athletic training or other allied health care professions. For example, our coursework meets the pre-requisites for many physical therapy schools, including the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Chapman. It also facilitates a seamless advancement to the teaching credential program for those interested in serving as high school athletic trainers. Additionally, the College of Educational Studies' new Integrated Educational Studies (IES) program offers an undergraduate minor that is valuable to athletic training majors interested in teaching. Our graduates are also well-prepared to pursue the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential.
