» Personal Protective Equipment

Chapman University is committed to providing a healthy and safe working environment for all members of the campus community. This is accomplished by the operation of University Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).  These procedures are designed to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

These procedures require the supervisor to assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present and select the PPE for their workers/employees based on an assessment of the hazards which their workers/employees are likely to encounter in the workplace. These safety procedures are designed to be consistent with industry best practices and in compliance with the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA).  A copy of the University Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) can be found appended to the Chemical Hygiene Plan or directly by clicking on this link.
