» Young Alumni Society Executive Board

The mission of the Young Alumni Board is to advise the Chapman Alumni Association and the University on ideas for engaging Chapman University recently graduated alumni, 10 years out and under, through professional networking, social, and cultural events. The Young Alumni Board operates as an advisory council connecting this generation of alumni to each other and the university.

Alex Garrett

Alex Garrett came to Chapman University in 2011 to enroll in Chapman's Vocal Performance Department in the College of Performing Arts. After a year of singing in Chapman's Opera Chapman he switched majors to pursue his passion in marketing at the Argyros School of Business and Economics. He currently uses his degree in the field of business to business sales as a National Account Manager at Premier Packaging. Looking back at the opportunities he was given through Chapman, Alex carries a deep admiration for the University's faculty, leadership and alumni. With the Young Alumni Society Executive Board he hopes to promote and foster the engagement between Chapman Young Alumni and their alma mater.

Vice President, Mentor Program
Lauren graduated from Chapman in 2019 with a B.S. in Health Sciences and a Psychology minor. As a Chapman student, she held multiple leadership positions including President of Delta Gamma, Peer Advisor for the Health Sciences Department, Tour Guide, and Orientation Leader. Today Lauren is an Admission Representative in Chapman's Office of Admission and enjoys working to bring in the next class of Chapman Panthers.

Haley Londen

Working in various countries across the world, Haley has an extensive and award winning domestic and international documentary background. Haley has made films in Poland, Germany, Ghana, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Washington DC, and my favorite – California. She also has experience with production management for large-scale projects from when she worked at a subsidiary of NBC Sports. Overall, she is a talented and knowledgeable video producer, striving to make your projects creative and meet your goals. Working with her clients closely on projects, allows her to thrive in the Video Production process.

Courtney James is a Director of Partner Development at Currency - the fastest growing Fintech company on the west coast. She works with executives, strategic partners, technical and operational teams to create, develop, and grow enterprise relationships. With innovative solutions that bring transaction revenue to heavy equipment industries, including food and beverage, utility trailers and healthcare, Courtney understands the value of trust. She believes that success in a developing trust between partners, and across teams is the key to successful execution. Courtney has led the execution of innovative and strategic solutions with Global 500, and Fortune 500 public companies, as well as, private companies consolidating as a result of M&A agreements in the private equity space. She holds her MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Chapman University in Orange, CA. In her free time, Courtney enjoys practicing yoga, playing tennis and discovering new coffee shops.

Leah De Leon

LEAH DE LEON is an award winning documentary filmmaker and photographer. She is driven by her innate curiosity about people and her love for travel, telling empowering stories that explore culture and identity around the world. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in documentary filmmaking from Chapman University and was a Nikon Storytellers Scholarship recipient. She is a co-founder, director and producer at Unreel Stories, an LA-based production company, where she creates original branded content and short films.

Andrea Kerndt

Vice President, Regional Programming
Originally from the Midwest, Andrea Kerndt traded snow for the beach cities of the west coast, graduating from Chapman University in 2018 with a B.F.A. in Television and Broadcast Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science. She presently works in the entertainment industry and resides in the Los Angeles area. A westside, non-vegan or gluten-free Angeleno, Andrea is a career-orientated early riser and a tennis rookie weekend warrior. Though she has a passion for discovering LA's best cheeseburgers, she has an even greater enthusiasm for her old Orange County stomping grounds. She likes long walks in the Orange Circle, catching Angels games with friends, and fending off those “Sunday Scaries” with Newport Beach sunshine. Most of all, she loves Chapman, and the incredible community that comes along with it.

Madeline Roth-Scofield

Vice President, Events
Madeline Roth-Scofield is a lifelong Orange County resident and graduated from Chapman University in 2013. As a student, Madeline held multiple leadership positions in Delta Delta Delta, was involved in the Art History Club, and enjoyed many afternoons spent in the Orange Circle. Since graduating, Madeline has worked to positively impact her community through her career in nonprofit fundraising and community relations. Madeline is excited to serve Chapman through her role on the Young Alumni Society Executive Board and to build pathways for her fellow alums to stay connected to their alma mater.

Hilary Smith

Hilary Smith is a Senior Manager of Global Procurement and Supply Chain for the NGO International Rescue Committee. She’s a “new” New Yorker after moving to The Big Apple from California in 2016. At Chapman, she double majored in Film Studies at Dodge College and Communication Studies at the School of Communication and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in 2013. She’s a proud scholar, Phi Sigma Sigma alumnae, and former Chapman Democrats VP. Hilary is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, but sees Orange County as her second home and continues to subscribe to the LA Times and listens to KPCC. She loves film, hiking, and of course Southern California.

Randy Rosales

Dr. Randy Rosales was born and raised in Orange County, CA. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Chapman University, followed by his dental education at University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Rosales excelled clinically during his training and is excited to be back home to take care of his hometown community. In his spare time, Dr. Rosales enjoys providing dental care to those with limited access to care. In the past, he has served those in Panama, Jamaica, and Mexico. He also enjoys playing basketball, training and racing triathlons, traveling, and exploring local restaurants.
