» General Faculty Center FAQs

The topics below relate only to the Faculty Center area within Campus Solutions (PeopleSoft).

+ - Can I get reports from Campus Solutions? For example, I’d like to get a list of all students in a particular major.

We will be developing reports in the upcoming months.  In the meantime, please work with Chapman's Institutional Research Office, also known as CIRO, for your reporting needs.

Use their Data Request form (note form can also be found through MyWindow homepage.  It’s under “Requests” on both the faculty and staff menus).

+ - Where can I find my Fall 2015 class schedule? It is not in WebAdvisor.

Log into my.chapman.edu using your Chapman ID and password.  Click on the Faculty Self Service link (next to My Self Service) and then click on the Faculty Center.  Your schedule appears on the first tab of the Faculty Center.

+ - How can I find my class rosters?

After you log into my.chapman.edu and access the Faculty Center, you will see a tab labeled Class Rosters.  Click on the tab and you can select the class you want to view from the drop down menu.

+ - Can I download my class rosters into Excel? Can I print a copy?

YES!  There is a small icon that resembles a spreadsheet in the top margin of the class roster.  Click the icon and you will be prompted to download the roster into Excel.

To print a PDF version of the class roster, scroll to the bottom of the roster and click on the Printer Friendly Version link. A new page will open that you can print using your browser’s print feature. There is a reference guide about class rosters on this training page (click the Faculty Center link).  Please refer to this for details on printing the PDF.  There are different instructions based on the browser you are using.

+ - When we used WebAdvisor, class rosters were imported from WebAdvisor to Blackboard. However, when a student dropped a class in WebAdvisor, they were not dropped in Blackboard, and this was annoying for students and faculty. Will that be fixed in Peoplesoft?

Yes!  We’re happy to report that not only will the class rosters be imported from Peoplesoft to Blackboard, but that the drop feature works and students who drop the class before the first day of the semester will no longer show up on your Blackboard roster.  Student who drop the class after the first day of the semester will be inactivated on your Blackboard course site and will no longer see the course on Blackboard or receive course materials.

+ - I searched for a class in the Search Classes for Guests link on my.chapman.edu and it didn’t find my class.

In the Search for classes, the box "Show Open Classes Only" is checked by default, meaning it won’t show classes that are full.  This is different from the behavior of WebAdvisor.  Please uncheck the box to see all classes.

+ - How do I see the waiting list for one of my classes?

Once you access the class roster in the Faculty Center, you can select the “Waiting” option from the Enrollment Status menu.  The system will then display the names of students on the wait list and their position number.

+ - Where do I enter my textbook information?

Log into my.chapman.edu using your Chapman ID and password.  Click on the Faculty Self Service link (next to My Self Service).  There is a link – Add/Update Textbooks.  Click on the link and you can search for your classes by entering Fall 2015 in the field next to Term.

+ - How do I enter textbook information?

There is a reference guide in the Faculty Center reference guide that walks through the steps along with screen shots.  That page also has a video tutorial on how to enter textbook information.

+ - How do we take attendance in PeopleSoft?

We will no longer be requiring faculty to record attendance.  We know, however, that it is critical for faculty to be able to drop no-show students from classes in the first week or two of class, and that this was previously accomplished by attendance.  The functionality to drop students has been added to class rosters in the Faculty Center.  The Reference Guide for Administrative Drops has been posted to the Faculty Center training webpage.

+ - What about mid-semester grades?

Mid-semester grading will be made available to faculty in October and you’ll receive notification at that time.  We’ll also provide online training materials then.

+ - How do I view my Advisees?

Log into my.chapman.edu using your Chapman ID and password.  Click on the Advisor Self Service link (next to My Self Service) and then click on the Advisor Center.   Your assigned advisees will appear in a list on the first screen.

Please submit a ticket to servicedesk@chapman.edu.  We will troubleshoot the issue.
