Southern California native Jeanne Walker received her BA in Social Welfare from California State University at Long Beach, after completing coursework at both Pitzer College and the University of Delaware. Jeanne is the Director of both the Student Psychological Counseling Services (SPCS) and the Community Psychological Counseling Services. She has served as Director of Student Psychological Counseling Services since 1983, and has seen this service grow from a one-office operation to a department with both full-time professionals and part-time interns. Jeanne's first position at Chapman in 1979 was as the secretary of the Community Clinic, and she feels especially privileged that she now directs the program that was instrumental in leading her to her current career. She has also taught various courses in the Psychology Department since 1984. Jeanne states that her interest and involvement in the alumni association centers on finding new and creative ways for alumni to maintain a connection with their alma mater. She also has a passion for her students and the future of the University: “Having been at Chapman for 27 years, there have been many students with whom I have worked in various capacities and have had in class. What an amazing resource these students and all others can be to each other and to the university if we are able to include them in activities that foster connection and support to their alma mater.”
