David P. Ellis Member-at-Large Class: 2000 Degree: BS Major: Business Administration (Management & Marketing Emphasis) Term Expires: 5/31/10
The rapid success of David P. Ellis ’00 serves as a testament to the unlimited opportunities available to alumni of Chapman University. In fact, he credits much of his professional experience to relationships gained through networking within the Chapman community. For example, following graduation, David was recruited by Special Operations at Arnel & Affiliates, a diversified investment company run by the Hon. George L. Argyros ’59, a successful entrepreneur and former United States Ambassador to Spain and Andorra. David worked as an assistant under Mr. Argyros’ leadership, an insider position that enabled David to gain an exclusive perspective into the development, leasing, and management of both commercial and multi-family projects as well as expansive insight into private equity ventures. David describes his work with George Argyros as a "Real World MBA." Later, David shifted his focus to Arnel Commercial Properties, where he marketed and leased numerous commercial office projects in Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
Currently, David works with CB Richard Ellis Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate firm. David specializes in tenant representation and multi market corporate real estate advisory services. David’s focus is to assist users of commercial space with value-added services that directly benefit business profitability.
As an undergraduate, David’s uncompromising drive to push his limits led to a great deal of success on the soccer field. In fact, Chapman advanced to the NCAA Championships for three out of the four years of his participation.
David wishes to bring his energy, ambition, and vision to his service with the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He states that since much of his success is due to the kindness and generosity of Chapman alumni, he feels a calling “to bring our organization to the next level.” The key to achieving this goal, David says, is not merely to increase the number of alumni who participate, but to create a community bound together by a strong sense of belonging.
