Legal ClinicsChapman University School of Law has a thriving clinical program, with new clinics emerging every year. Clinics provide pro bono services in a diverse range of subject areas, including elder law, tax law, entertainment law, military law, immigration law, family law, and domestic violence law. Each clinical program is directed by a faculty member with significant clinical experience. Students participate in classroom training sessions as well as hands-on field work that may include client contact, research projects, document preparation, brief writing, and court appearances. The School of Law introduced three important new clinics in the 2008-09 academic year: the Entertainment Contracts Law Clinic, which allows students to serve as production counsel for a feature length motion picture; the AMVETS Legal Clinic, offering free legal representation to veterans, service members and their families; and, the Appellate Tax Advocacy Clinic, which allows students to participate in actual appellate tax cases through the Center for Fair Administration of Taxation. |
