Employer Guide to Internships

Strengthening the link between classroom learning and the work world.

The Chapman University Internship Program offers students an opportunity to increase the student's understanding of their chosen field and enhance the academic experience by providing new perspectives. Through this program, employers often find talented students to assist with projects and tasks. Additionally, students with proven job skills and related work experience are a valuable asset when companies recruit for new positions.

An internship is a structured and supervised professional work-learn experience within an approved agency, organization, corporation, for which a student can earn academic credit.

As an intern, the student is involved in a 4-way partnership that includes the student, site supervisor,  the faculty internship supervisor, and the Chapman University Internship Coordinator. Only students registered for academic credit and working at approved sites are considered interns.
