Academic ProgramsThe Department of Theatre offers three degree programs designed to foster the artistic and academic goals and abilities of each student. The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed for students to explore a broad scope of coursework. The BA requires completion of 47 credits, which allows students to explore electives in other disciplines or to pursue a double major. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance degree is designed for students committed to pursuing careers as professional performers or directors. The BFA in Theatre Performance requires more concentrated study with the completion of 72 credits. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screen Acting degree is designed to accommodate students interested in screen acting as well as theatre and filmmaking, preparing students for work as performers in all recorded media, including film, television, and new media. The BFA in Screen Acting requires the completion of 72 credits. Each of these degrees provides excellent preparation for those who plan to attend graduate school.
