» Undergraduate Student and Family Orientation

Chapman's Orientation experience provides a comprehensive start to students and families journey into the Chapman community. Each day provides unique programming and opportunities to start making connections, get settled, and find their sense of belonging. Students engage in every day of orientation and do not select one specific day to attend.

Fall Orientation will take place the week before the fall semester starts;

  • First Year Student Orientation will be from Tuesday, August 20th through Saturday, August 24th.
  • First Year Family Orientation will be from Tuesday, August 20th to the evening of Wednesday, August 21st.
  • Transfer Student Orientation will be from Thursday, August 22nd through Saturday, August 24th.
  • Transfer Family Orientation will be on Thursday, August 22nd.

Each student can bring two guests free of charge. Any additional guests will have a registration fee. Only incoming Chapman students may register themselves and their guests, after logging in with their Chapman single-sign-on. Registration and the full schedule will become available in mid-July.

Chapman Chats: You're All in the Same Boat - Orientation 101

Family involvement plays a key role in academic success. That is why Chapman hosts Family Orientation concurrently with Student Orientation. We encourage families to attend all days offered and we understand that sometimes schedules do not allow. This is why families can choose to attend one or multiple days.

Families will have the opportunity to interact with faculty, administrators, staff and student leaders. Participants will learn about college life, academic programs, the Office of Parent and Family Engagement, and how to promote students' personal development and academic success.

Healthy Panther

The Healthy Panther Initiative (HPI) is a required program for all new first-year and transfer undergraduate students. You can learn more about the program on our Healthy Panther page.
