This tutorial has been developed to give you an introduction to academic advising and course registration. By completing this tutorial and submitting the information at the end, you will fulfill the freshman advising requirement, and your registration hold will be lifted. By the end of the tutorial, you will have an understanding of Chapman's General Education program, degree requirements, and registration procedures.

Transfer students are not required to complete advising, but this tutorial will provide transfers with valuable information regarding course selection and registration.

  • WebAdvisor registration

In order to best use this information, you MUST have the following tools available to you as you complete the tutorial:

  • Your Chapman ID number
  • Your WebAdvisor login information (user name and PIN)
  • A copy of your program evaluation
    • You can print a copy of your program evaluation from WebAdvisor. For instructions on how to access and print your program evaluation, go to the New Student Eval Guide on Registrar's Office website (opens a new window)
    • NOTE: The WebAdvisor tutorial (power point), and the instructions for printing the program evaluation are NOT the same as this online advising tutorial.  You must complete this tutorial and log out at the end in order to have your advising hold lifted.
  • Copies of your AP/IB scores (if you have them)
  • A pen and paper
