Interrupted Enrollment

coachellavalley1 Students may find it necessary to interrupt progress during their course of study; leave Chapman and decide to return at a later date. Students who leave the university in good standing and return within two years retain the program requirements of their designated catalog year.

The University may require students to adopt the catalog year program requirements at the time of their return if a program has become impacted or changed by external regulatory agencies.

Students returning after two years of absence from the university are required to submit a full application for re-admission and must meet all current admission entrance requirements.

How to begin Interrupted Enrollment:

  • Complete current term and do not register for the upcoming term
  • If interrupting enrollment before the end of the term, follow Steps to Withdraw

How to re-enroll:

  • Review your program evaluation
  • Add your classes through Web Advisor
  • or, Submit class Add/Drop form to your Campus Enrollment Services Office

Retain requirements from original catalog if:

  • the program is still offered by Chapman
  • the program is not impacted by selective admission
  • the program was not significantly changed by regulatory requirements

If students take coursework during their absence:

  • Provide transcripts of that coursework to the Registrar's Office prior to re-enrollment
  • Non-satisfactory performance or issues of academic integrity may nullify the student's eligibility to return
