Disposals and Transfers of Equipment
Disposals: Equipment should not be disposed of unless it is obsolete or beyond repair. Equipment that is no longer needed by one department should be transferred to a department that could use it. Disposals of Chapman University property and equipment can only be approved by the appropriate Vice President or Dean and the Controller.
Please fill out the Fixed Asset Disposal Form for all disposals of Chapman University equipment.
Transfers: Fixed Assets may be transferred between departments after completing a Fixed Asset Transfer/Offsite Form. The form must have the approval of both the sending and receiving departments. By completing and returning the forms to Financial Services, we will be able to reassign the responsibility for an item from the department and person that the equipment was assigned to the new department and person.
Theft: All University property, including equipment, stolen or otherwise missing must be reported to Campus Safety at the time it is discovered missing. The Campus Safety’s theft report must accompany the completed Fixed Asset Disposal Form and sent to Financial Services.
