Portia Hein

Portia Hein was born in Kenwood, California. She received her BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1993 and her MFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. Portia has shown widely both in the United States and abroad. Recent solo exhibitions include Anna Helwing Gallery (Los Angeles), Bodybuilder and Sportsman (Chicago) and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. She has been included in such exhibitions as Keep Feeling Fascination at the Luckman Gallery at California State University Los Angeles, Rogue Wave at LA Louver (Venice, CA) and Fata Morgana at Galerie Schmidt Maczollek (Cologne, Germany). Her work has been reviewed in the Los Angeles Times, Art on Paper, Artweek, Art Review and other publications.  Her paintings, drawings and watercolors are included in numerous public and private collections. Portia Hein lives and works in Los Angeles.
