U.S. Constitution Test

A score of pass on the U.S. Constitution Test satisfies the U.S. Constitution requirement for the California Teaching Credential Program. This test is offered through the Tutoring, Learning and Testing Center at Chapman University, which is located in Demille Hall 130. The cost of the test is $20. To sign up for a test time, call (714) 997-6828. It is recommended that you call for an appointment at least one week in advance.

The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions and a score of 38 correct answers is required to pass.

The day of the test please bring the following:

  • Current government issued photo identification (Driver's License, Passport)
  • $20 payment in cash or check payable to Chapman University

Questions require very specific knowledge of the constitution, so it is important to know the various parts of the constitution thoroughly.

Note that you must wait three weeks before re-taking the exam; the $20 fee is assessed each time the test is administered.
