Rachel Bennett
Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Chapel
Rachel Bennett joins the Fish Interfaith Center as a returning member of the Chapman community. In 2005 Rachel traded the spectacular peaks of the Rocky Mountains where she grew up hiking and camping, for the beaches and balmy weather of Southern California and moved to Orange to attend Chapman University.
As a student, Rachel was an active member of Disciples on Campus, Students for Peaceful Empowerment, Action and Knowledge (SPEAK), and participated in a 2007 Interterm service learning trip to South Africa; and in 2009, she was selected as one of only 50 undergraduate students nationwide to receive a scholarship through The Fund for Theological Education to further explore her interest in ministry and religious studies. After graduating in 2009, Rachel began an internship at The Road Less Traveled, an eco-friendly store focusing on the promotion of conscious and sustainable living, located in Santa Ana. During her internship, Rachel was utterly inspired by all of the phenomenal people surrounding her, working tirelessly to educate and empower others to make the world a better place through business and personal practices.
In her free time, Rachel also enjoys bike riding, cooking, home improvement projects, reading and spending time with her Pug, George, and cat, Aslan. Eventually, she hopes to earn a Master’s in Social Work to better serve the community and the world around her. Rachel is thrilled for the opportunity to work with Chapman students, staff, faculty and the community through her work at the Fish Interfaith Center.
