What can I expect from my internship faculty advisor?The Faculty internship advisor: · Can provide you with networking contacts to identify a potential internship site and future opportunities. The Career Development Center is also a resource for finding internship sites. · Works together with you to complete the Internship Learning Agreement Form by approving the learning objectives, assigns meeting times, academic assignments and a method of evaluation. · Meets with the student at least 3 times per term and additionally as needed or requested and conferences with the internship site supervisor. · Evaluates the student intern’s performance by collecting feedback from the site, reviews the Evaluation of Student Performance submitted by the site supervisor along with any other academic assignment, and reports a grade for credit. · Oral reports are recommended as part of the final student and internship faculty advisor meeting. Oral reports do not constitute the sole form of academic evaluation. Faculty internship advisors may also assign daily logs, written papers, or final projects as part of the academic component. |
