This page provides details on transportation from a local airport to Chapman housing on or near our Orange Campus. You can use the information to also help you plan on arriving at an apartment or other housing in the area.

There are several airports within driving distance of Chapman's Orange Campus: 

  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): 40 miles/64 kilometers to Orange Campus
  • John Wayne/Orange County Airport (SNA): 11 miles/17 kilometers to Orange Campus
  • Long Beach Airport (LGB): 21 miles/33 kilometers to Orange Campus
  • Ontario International Airport (ONT): 35 miles/56 kilometers to Orange Campus
  • Bob Hope/Burbank Airport (BUR): 48 miles/77 kilometers to Orange Campus
  • San Diego International Airport (SAN): 92 miles/148 kilometers to Orange Campus

Selecting which airport you choose may depend on a few factors:

  • Flying into John Wayne/Orange County Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana is the most convenient. It is about 20 minutes from our Orange or Rinker campuses.
  • When flying internationally you will likely need to fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as it is the closest at approximately 45-60 minutes to our Orange Campus and 75 minutes from our Rinker Campus.

Taxi Options

Taxis are the most direct route to your destination but may cost more than other options. You can book a taxi from a kiosk inside the terminal or step out onto the sidewalk of the terminal. Look for the overhead signs for taxis.

General Tips for Airport Safety

  1. Never leave baggage unattended. Do not entrust bags to a stranger, even if they seem trustworthy and honest.
  2. Be attentive and watchful of signs, directions and maps at the airport. Listen carefully to announcements.
  3. Beware of solicitors who may offer to provide a ride. 
  4. In case of a problem, alert the information desk in the lobby or airport security personnel.
