» Incoming Students

We are excited that you are living on campus during your first semester in our residential communities at Chapman! Incoming first year students must submit a housing application via the Chapman Housing Portal. Students will receive priority consideration if their housing application is complete and submitted by May 15th, 2022. This also includes submitting the non-refundable $500 housing reservation payment by May 1st, 2022.

Incoming transfer students must submit their $500 non-refundable Housing Reservation Payment and their Housing Application by June 15th. Housing is optional for transfer students.

Students must take the following steps in order to live on campus:

Step 1: Complete Housing Application via Chapman Housing Portal

Submit your housing application using the Chapman Housing Portal. To access the portal, you will need your Chapman username and password. If you do not have this information, you can contact the IS&T Service Desk. You must also submit a non-refundable $500 housing reservation payment. Instructions to make this payment are included on the application and sent to you via email.

Incoming first-year students must submit their housing application via the Chapman Housing Portal by May 15th, 2022 and submit their Housing Reservation Payment by May 1st, 2022.

Incoming transfer students must complete their housing application and submit their Housing Reservation Payment by June 15th. Housing is optional for incoming transfer students.

Step 2: Housing Application Received by RLFYE

Students who have applied for housing will receive an email after the priority filing date with updates through their student email. First Year students will be placed in our housing communities located on main campus. Transfer students will be placed in other residential buildings as space allows.

Step 3: Wait Patiently to Recieve Housing Assignments

Please wait patiently as the Office of Residence Life and First Year Experience finalizes housing assignments. Incoming students can expect to recieve an email late summer about their housing assignments and roommates (if applicable).

Incoming first-year students will be randomly placed with other students in their Fenestra Living Learning Communities. This means that although incoming first year students won't be able to preference their roommates or residences, they will be placed on the same floor as others in the same college/field of study to help them create new connections.

Incoming transfer students will be placed in communities where space is available.

If you have any questions, please contact our office at reslife@chapman.edu.
